Some of you might be wondering where have I been? Well, I haven't been hibernating, but I have had some things I have had to attend to which have kept me offline.

In coming back today, I thought I would share an email from an older preacher, a missionary to the Phillipines who also heads up a Bible College there. I believe I'm mentioned him and quoted him here before. He comes from the generation of which he speaks, and I thought on this day his comments were a much more appropriate than anything I could come up with... and his is a somewhat unique experience, too.

Dec. 7, 1941, a day that shall live in infamy.

I am wondering if we have lost our national memory chip. I know they have essentially lost most of the memory of Dec. 7-8 in the Philippines. Here it happened on Dec. 8 due to the international date line change. If it were not for a few monuments here and there you could not know that a large portion of a World War was fought here just 60 years ago.

The world now seems to want to blame America for ending World War II but they forget to blame Germany and Japan for starting it. Go figure.

Freedom is expensive. I costs the lives of defenders. But we must not think of that in reference to Iraq. It costs the political lives of the statesmen who lead in the defense of liberty. Ask George W. Bush. And Tony Blair. And Winston Churchill.

I salute the men who paid for my liberty. May God bless their memory.
