ARE YOU A RACIST?

As a Bible-believing Christian, I do NOT believe God is "color-blind." I think He sees two colors: blood of Christ red and unsaved black. And that only in the hearts of men. Any other perceived racial divisions are simply a pigment of our imaginations.

I know there's all sorts of pride, and I don't suppose it is of necessity wrong to be proud of your heritage, to a point. I do have a problem with understanding why some people want to be a hyphenated American, rather than just becoming part of the melting part. A large part of our problem today is because people don't want to assimilate as they used to.

Granted, some of what happened a la Ellis Island perhaps wasn't as good as it could be for those who came ashore. But as a nation, why is wrong to have certain standards and requirements for those who want to come in? And why is it wrong when we object to those who don't play by the rules to come in, especially when they often then turn around and demand special privileges?

These thought sort of came up because of an email I recently received. I guess it was written because of some recent news events. I'm not much for "white power" and I'm not much impressed by others of any other "color" who have to boast of their color's power either. And I don't think I would have expressed the sentiments in this email precisely like this. I'm not even sure of a couple of the facts this email claims. But I find the questions it poses and the points it makes to be interesting, and that's why I'm sharing it here with you.

As it was sent to me, it was entitled, "im not RACIST but its true"

You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey", "Gringo" and you think it's OK.

But when I call you Kike, sand nigger, rag head ,Towelhead, WOP, Camel Jockey, Gook, nigger, wet back, slant eyes or Chink you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

- You have the United Negro College Fund.
- You have Martin Luther King Day.
- You have Black History Month.
- You have Cesar Chavez Day.
- You have Yom Hashoah
- You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
- You have the NAACP.
- You have BET.

If we had WET (white entertainment television) ...we'd be racist.
- If we had a White Pride Day... you would call us racist.
- If we had white history month... we'd be racist.
- If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives... we'd be racist.
- If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships...you know we'd be racist.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights...you would call us racist.

Did you know that some high school students decided to make a club for only the white students because the other ethnicities had them... they all got sent to court for being racist but the african-american, Latino, and Asia clubs were not even questioned.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

I am white.
I am proud.
But, you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

Now watch, I'll be a racist for posting this

So what? No one will re-post this for fear of being called a racist.

Even if you disagree in the main with the sentiments expressed, I hope you agree it does make for interesting reading, and it does provoke thought on the issue.

Thanks for stopping in today. My blessings to you,
Pastor Tim
